The Radiance of Genuine Connections
As I approached my first-ever event, Unplug & Rediscover – Work/Love Balance, the palpable anticipation was coupled with a realisation of the delicate balance that event planning and management demand – a blend of logistics and emotions that necessitate the presence of skilled and competent individuals around you. Little did I know that this journey would not only be about executing a successful event but also about discovering individuals who would shine brightly. These were the genuine people who offered words of encouragement and unwavering support in a way that, as the empath that I am, found incredibly touching.
In the whirlwind of executing a successful event, the value of a solid team of people cannot be overstated. The individuals who showed up weren't just physically present; they brought with them an authenticity that left me contemplating the essence of genuine connections.
For me, it's an energy, an undeniable kindness that radiates effortlessly from genuine people. I can sense it – an instinct that recognises the authenticity of their intentions. I vividly recall a delegate arriving early, a glimmer of excitement in her eyes as she asked, "Is there anything I can do?" It was a simple gesture, yet one that spoke volumes about genuine support. She was willing to roll up her sleeves to help, understanding that sometimes unforeseen challenges arise, and genuine people help you navigate through them with calm and focus. Another delegate asked me how I was feeling – she was sincere – and she asked in a way that was soothing to my soul, following on with positive affirmations.
These genuine people, I've come to realise, are the ones who make you feel tall. They offer a subtle but empowering nudge, assuring you that you can conquer any challenge. They laugh with you, not at you, creating an atmosphere where camaraderie and shared joy thrive.
In the intricate tapestry of my life, these genuine connections have evolved into personal advisors. They play the role of the board and strategists in the CEO-like role I navigate. I may not always make the best decisions, but their lack of judgment or ridicule and their unwavering support are cornerstones of our connection. The world is full of stars, bright stars of genuine people, and I've come to understand the importance of opening up and getting to know them.
