March Spring Clean

As March bids adieu, I find myself yearning for the brighter days ahead like a much-needed tonic. Contemplating a permanent move to sunnier weather has crossed my mind – there's something about sunshine that simply lifts the spirits. This month, my focus has been on immersing myself in books, absorbing knowledge, and feeling more enlightened and aware than ever before. But as I welcomed a new month, it was time for some spring cleaning – not just of my physical space, but of my mental landscape as well.

Here are a few strategies that have been guiding me on my March spring clean journey:

Practice Gratitude: I've made a conscious effort to cultivate gratitude, especially in moments that used to trigger frustration. Keeping a small diary and jotting down all the good things, places I've visited, and people who bring a smile to my face has been remarkably uplifting.

Embrace My Physicality: Investing in a change in my skincare regime and making a conscious effort to drink more water has been a priority. Instead of fixating on parts of my body I used to criticise, I've started to appreciate and embrace every inch of my physical self.

Live Life Golden: Inspired by the lyrics of Gill Scott, I've embraced every opportunity and savoured every experience. Reading more books has helped me discover more about myself, and I'm on a real quest for enlightenment.

Avoid Energy Drainers: Recognising the people and situations that drain my energy has been a game-changer. Instead of getting drawn into negativity, I've chosen to preserve my peace of mind.

Nurture Relationships: Investing time in nurturing meaningful relationships has been incredibly fulfilling. Enjoying green tea moments with people who bring joy and positivity into my life has been truly infectious.

Honest Communication: I've made a commitment to speak my truth authentically and unapologetically. Letting go of the need to please others has been liberating, and I now approach communication with a win-win spirit.

Spring Cleaning for the Mind: Embarking on intentional mental spring cleaning has involved letting go of limiting beliefs, negative thought patterns, and mental clutter. Reading has played a significant role in this process, uplifting my spirits and creating space for positivity and growth.

As March draws to a close, I'm stepping into April with a lighter heart, a clearer mind, and a renewed sense of purpose. Here's to embracing the freshness of a new season – both externally and internally. Bring it on, April... let’s connect again soon.
